I hope she has more scenes than just her sitting at the table with the whole cast, then alone at the same table with just Nic Cage.

Dunaway, who plays Brian’s mom in the film, broke her leg a few days before filming and had to have her scenes rewritten so that she would be able to perform sitting down. “I thought about the year and how far we’d come and told the studio I would rewrite her part,” said Baker, who was determined not to recast her role, opting to rewrite the entire part in a short window. “I do not to this day think she ever knew, but when she got to set, I arranged for each scene she was in to be sitting and we blocked the scenes around her in such a way that one would have never known she was hurt. She was in so much pain each day, but as the true professional she was, she showed up , she worked hard and we shot her part.” Deadline Article

She's second billed! If this gets released it will be the first film of hers I've seen in a theatre since 1999!

I just saw the trailer. Apparently the film will be released on VOD on July 4, just 4 days after its theatrical release. Don't think it's a good sign (it was pretty much the same thing for the Nic Cage film Trespass with Nicole Kidman, a few years ago) but whatever, it seems to be a pretty decent movie. I hope too Faye has more than just 2 scenes, even if she has second billing we never know (and wtf they didn't put her on the poster?) I'm so glad Jonathan Baker was smart enough and refused to recast Faye. Thumbs up to him.

Sounds like it will be in theatres for 2 weeks. I hope so this looks like a fun thriller and I'm liking what I see so far.

If you get to see the film, please share your thoughts about it. I can't wait.

I saw it today. She has about 5 or 6 scenes - mostly short ones. Average movie, more like one of those 90s thrillers but one of her better films from the recent years.

Agree. Average movie indeed (maybe you noticed that many new accounts were recently created to give positive reviews to the film on IMDb ), but definitely one of her better from the recent years. I excepted more scenes with Faye so I'm kind of disappointed that her character is not bigger. And when I asked Jonathan Baker after filming wrapped, he told me Faye had a big supporting role.... I also thought too about those 90s thrillers, and I wish Faye could do something with Adrian Lyne. I liked Gina Gershon very much and I wish we could have seen Lindsay Lohan as Katie. The script could have been better but I'm still glad Faye is in that film. If Baker (I'm not going to talk about his acting abilities) did not rewrote her part so that she was able to perform sitting down, “Inconceivable” would have joined “Hand of God” and “Cliffs of Fredom” and we would have had only “Bye Bye Man”.... (and “The Case for Christ” but I didn't see it yet). Now I just want new projects !!!!

I agree with your assessment, Brice. Overall disappointing, but glad she's in it. I really enjoyed Gina Gershon in her role, but the ending needed work and I was disappointed to see Faye disappear from the film with 30 minutes still remaining. I felt her absence was particularly noticeable with all the drama going down for the ending. Grandma Donna would have been present etc. And Jonathan Baker's direction was strangely lacking (not to mention his acting). It seems as a director he chose to cut away from Faye often to show other actors reacting when he should have left the camera on Faye. Even in her first brief scene, she is mostly blocked from the wide view by director/actor Baker even though the three other leads Cage, Gershon, and Whelan were framed perfectly - but there's Baker blocking Faye from view several times by his seat position and his raising his arm in a toast. Amateurish.
What's really bothering me is the absence of new projects. I really expected her to have a least two other projects announced by now. Does no one have any info?

Speaking of amateurism, did you see the “Cliffs of Fredom” poster ? Almost glad Faye is not in it, although I just would have loved to see her with Christopher Plummer again. www.imdb.com/title/tt2275629/mediaviewer/rm448868096Faye told me at Cannes some projects were coming but the wait is just so frustrating. She looked so great at the Oscars, I hope she's been offered more scripts. Fingers crossed.

It is very cheesy looking, but at least Faye would have been on the poster. But I have a feeling we won't regret her not being in it.

Sometime in the past year, there was a director of some film (can't remember now which one) who revealed in an interview that he was unable to cast Faye in his movie due to health insurers not being willing to insure her. Not sure why he chose to reveal that information publicly, but now it's out there. I wonder if that is a big part of why we are not seeing her in films now. The only times we have seen her has been tiny roles that likely only took a day or two to film, and maybe insurers were willing to take a risk with her if her time on the set was very limited. (I know nothing about how these insurance contracts work but presumably actors who are only working briefly for the production are not considered to be high-risk compared to the lead stars).
If that's part of why she's not working more often, then these tiny parts (mostly in crap movies) may be her only opportunity to do movies in the future. I sure hope that's not the case!

It was french director Samuel Benchetrit for his film “Macadam Stories” (or “Asphalte”). He wanted both Jean-Louis Trintignant (from Michael Haneke's “Amour”) and Faye to star in the film, but both had health issues and had to be replaced.
Actors who are contracted for only 2 or 3 days can be replaced easily so it's not difficult to insure them. The big problem is when they have a lead or a big supporting role....
When I first read the Benchetrit interview, I really thought Faye was ill and would never work again. And we've seen her looking frail at the Lumière Film Festival in 2014. She really had no luck in recent years with her health (broken wrist in 2010, broken leg in 2015 just before shooting “Inconceivable” and “The Case for Christ”....).
But she looked so great at the Oscars so I hope people are thinking of her....
Todd, do you remember who was the guy who worked on “Feud” and met Faye at a pedicure and was thinking of her to star in his first feature (if my memories are good) ? I really hope this will happen....
